THIS PRECIOUS STONE SET IN THE SILVER SEA

Nearly a thousand miles separate the Scilly Isles off the south western tip of Cornwall

from the most northern lighthouse on the Shetland Islands.

The next landfall is Greenland but thanks to the Gulf Stream the heather blooms a few miles south of Cape Wrath.

The white horse at Uffington is a mere colt at 3000 years old.

Nine hundred miles south of the Shetlands we find the last parts of the Dukedom of Normandy which still belong to the Queen's realms though are not members of the European Union - The Channel Islands lie off the Normandy coast.
