THIS PRECIOUS STONE SET IN THE SILVER SEA
Nearly a thousand miles separate the Scilly Isles off the south western tip of Cornwall from the most northern lighthouse on the Shetland Islands.
Stone circles are found from Scotland and Ireland to the southern parts of England. White horses and other symbols have been carved into the chalk. Stonehenge is 5000 years old and nearby Avebury stone circle probably 1000 years older.
The white horse at Uffington is a mere colt at 3000 years old. Nine hundred miles south of the Shetlands we find the last parts of the Dukedom of Normandy which still belong to the Queen's realms though are not members of the European Union - The Channel Islands lie off the Normandy coast.
We'd be delighted to show you sea lochs where the seals sunbathe on the rocks, highlands and moors where deer roam and eagles soar, palm trees at the northern and southern ends of these islands, many other surprises. We'll also give a feel for these islands and their people. Tell us what you'd like to see or let us advise you - by simply sending an email. Hope to see you over here. |
