OMAHA BEACH, THE AMERICAN CEMETERY & POINTE DU HOC

We continue westwards, the length of Omaha Beach, passing over the beautiful American cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, before flying alongside the Pointe du Hoc still pitted with craters blasted by B 24 Mitchells and the big guns of the USS Texas. We cross the Vire estuary and pass Utah beach before flying over the American drop zones around the small town of St Mere Eglise. Your guide describes the assault plans, the defences and the morning of D-Day.
